The Adas Israel was dedicated in 1876. It is now a conservative synagouge. The original structure hosts Lillian & Albert Small Jewish Museum. The Musuem is run by the Jewish Historical Society of Greater Washington, which gives building tours and walking tours.==Jewish Geography==Nor will one find much pertaining to modern Jewish life, like kosher restaurants or shuls. The Jewish communities are mostly in the suburbs; Silver Springs, Rockville.There is one orthodox minyan in town Kesher Israel (Georgetown Synagogue - Washington D.C.). There are many hotels within walking distance. However some prefer to stay across the river to get cheaper rates.
